Coterie Group has acquired Links Concept

Links Concept Family Wine Merchants, one of Hong Kong’s leading wine importers, has been acquired by the United Kingdom–based Coterie Group, becoming part of the company’s expanding global portfolio spanning wine sales, storage and superyacht supply services.

Links Concept Family Wine Merchants, one of Hong Kong’s leading wine importers, has been acquired by the United Kingdom–based Coterie Holdings, becoming part of the company’s expanding global portfolio spanning wine sales, storage and superyacht supply services.

The deal, announced on November 13, was completed for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2000, Links Concept is ranked among Asia’s Top 50 Wine Importers and has built a strong reputation representing premium wineries in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. Over the past 25 years, the family-owned company has become a key partner for major international brands, including Champagne Louis Roederer, Familia Torres, Shaw + Smith, Alvaro Palacios, Torbreck, Antinori and Louis Latour.

Coterie Group, which aims to build a modern global fine-wine platform, owns UK merchants Lay & Wheeler and Hallgarten & Novum Wines, bonded storage provider Coterie Vaults, wine-lending firm Jera Wine and superyacht supplier Global Wine Solutions. The group is led by CEO Michael Saunders.

“We are delighted to welcome Links Concept Family Wine Merchants into the Coterie family,” Saunders said in a statement. “Their focus on quality, their excellent producer portfolio and their deep knowledge of the Hong Kong and China markets make them an ideal partner. This acquisition strengthens our international footprint and allows us to offer even greater opportunities for the family-owned wineries we represent.”

Alice de La Fuente Saez, director, and Jermann Lai, managing director of Links Concept, said the acquisition marks a milestone for the company.

“For more than 25 years we have worked to introduce some of the world’s most exciting producers to Hong Kong and beyond,” they said. “Joining Coterie gives us the resources and global reach to take that mission further while staying true to our values.”

Links Concept will continue to operate under its existing name and management team. Both companies said the partnership will accelerate the growth of premium wine in Asia and strengthen ties between producers and a growing base of fine-wine consumers.
