At a time when global wine consumption is becoming more restrained and traditional red wine faces mounting pressure, Provence rosé has emerged as one of the most resilient light wine categories internationally. Domaines Ott, long focused on rosé as its core expression, has built strong recognition within this segment.

Founded in 1896 by Marcel Ott, the estate is now part of the Roederer Collection, which also owns the Champagne house Louis Roederer. Since its founding, Domaines Ott has remained rooted in Provence, expanding in the 20th century with the acquisition of Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan.

These three estates, located across the Côtes de Provence and Bandol appellations, form the backbone of the winery’s terroir-driven approach. Each site reflects distinct climatic and geological conditions: Château de Selle expresses inland balance and structure; Clos Mireille highlights coastal brightness and freshness; while Château Romassan, based in Bandol, delivers greater depth and ageing potential, built around Mourvèdre.

The 2025 vintage highlights these differences across four wines.

Château de Selle Rosé 2025 (AOC Côtes de Provence) maintains its hallmark balance and elegance, with a restrained interplay between structure and finesse.

Clos Mireille Rosé 2025 (AOC Côtes de Provence) places greater emphasis on its maritime origins, offering brightness and lifted freshness.

Château Romassan Rosé 2025 (AOC Bandol), anchored by Mourvèdre, shows more structure and depth beyond fruit expression, making it the most powerful style within the range.

By Ott* Rosé 2025 brings together the key characteristics of Provence rosé into a lighter, more direct and accessible style.

Climatically, the 2025 vintage reflects a contrasting growing season, with higher rainfall during winter and spring followed by a hot, dry summer, leading to a good vintage with a harvest slightly below the five-year average.

Today, the estate is led by fourth-generation owner Jean-François Ott, who continues to advance organic farming practices, supported by biodynamic principles. The winery has held organic certification since the 2022 vintage, aligning with the Roederer Collection’s long-term commitment to sustainability and terroir expression.
