Bojan is the current Deputy General Manager for Links with over 12 years of experience in the wine business. Previously, he was appointed as Head of Wine and Beverage of Peninsula Group. For this year’s Christmas, he had a handful of wines in mind to share with various types of wine lovers.

First of all, “there is simply no celebration without bubbles,” he affirms before picking his first wine, the Louis Roederer Collection 242 which he described as a “creamy wine”. The Champagne was rated by Wine Spectator as Top 100 Wines of 2021, and said to have “a little bit of toastiness” and taste “pretty ripe” by Jancis Robison.

As a huge fan of Pinot Noir himself, he picked Domaine Louis Latour Aloxe-Corton this year and praised it as a great Christmas wine with “elegant aromas on red fruits that go well with many dishes”.

Louis Latour is a major wine producer in Burgundy. It is said to own the largest holdings of the Grand Cru vineyard of 27 hectares in Burgundy, and 48 hectares in total. Its 2018 vintage was given a score of 90 by Wine Spectator and awarded Gold from the Berlin Wine Trophy this year.

Interestingly, Bojan would pick wine depending on the weather as well. “If weather get more colder, I would use a bit more stronger wines such as Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino or JM Cazes Pauillac de Lynch-Bages.” The former wine is a Sangiovese blend with 13.5% to 14% abv alcohol level and the later wine is a Bordeaux blend.

Taking care of New World wine lovers, he would pick HDV (Hyde de Villaine) from Carneros, US. Its 2013 Napa Valley Chardonnay was featured in Vivino‘s 2019 Wine Style Awards.

HDV is a family venture between Hyde Vineyards of Napa Valley and Aubert & Pamela de Villaine of Burgundy. Aubert de Villaine is the co-owner of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, a widely renowned producer in Burgundy that produces some of the world’s most expensive wines.

For gift choice, he would give out Dow’s Vintage Port 2000 or 2007 to keep his friends “warm and happy”. The dessert wine comes from Portugal with 20% abv alcohol level.
