Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr achieved a white glove result in its first-ever partnership with the Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot festival, raising €351,700 from 72 wine lots in two auctions, with all proceeds supporting young musical talent.

The sales, held both online and during a gala dinner at Château du Clos de Vougeot on June 29, saw all lots sold, achiving a “white glove” result for the auction house.

The online sale, which concluded on July 2 via bonhams.com, brought in €173,200 from 59 lots. Leading the results was a set of three magnums of Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, Cuvée Madeleine Collignon 2019, aged by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and bottled for the Hospices de Beaune, which fetched €18,360.

A further 13 lots offered live at the festival’s gala dinner, conducted by Maître Arnaud Cornette de Saint Cyr in the Grand Cellier, added €178,500 to the total.

“This unique event is a tribute to excellence in both wine and music as well as Burgundy’s long charitable tradition,” said Amayès Aouli, Global Head of Wine & Spirits at Bonhams. “We were deeply honoured to partner with Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot.”

The auctions featured large-format and Grand Cru wines donated by some of Burgundy’s most celebrated domaines. Highlights included three magnums of Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Cuvée du Roi Soleil 2022 from Domaine Leflaive, which sold for €16,200; a magnum of Champagne Salon 2013 paired with an exclusive experience, which sold for €9,180—four times its estimate; and three magnums of Domaine Dujac’s Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2006, which sold for €6,480.

All proceeds will benefit the Fonds Instrumental et des Jeunes Talents, which supports scholarships, concerts, and resources for emerging musicians.

“I would like to thank the generosity from the world’s most revered domaines, which offered in the spirit of sharing both the finest wine and music,” said Aubert de Villaine and Bernard Hervet, co-founders of Musique & Vin. “These two auctions brought global attention and essential fundraising for the Instrumental Fund.”

The event marked a successful debut collaboration between Bonhams and the annual Musique & Vin festival, reinforcing the synergy between fine wine and classical music while reaffirming Burgundy’s philanthropic legacy.
