The top selling wines on Waima, the alcohol delivery app owned by China's mega delivery platform Meituan

What are Shanghai’s top-selling wines? We dug into sales data from Waima—Meituan’s alcohol delivery arm—to find out what the city’s drinkers are really reaching for. The results might surprise you.

No. 10: Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz (750ml)

An entry-level wine from Penfolds, priced at RMB 105 per bottle (US$ 14.59), with a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 170 reviews.

No. 9: Dr. Loosen Mosel Riesling (750ml)

The only German Riesling on the list. As one of the most recognised white wine styles in China, Riesling—along with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc—has gained traction. This bottle sells for RMB 109 (US$ 15.18) and holds a 4.7 rating from 188 reviews.

No. 8: Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc (750ml)

Cloudy Bay, the flagship New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc under LVMH, remains one of China’s top-selling white wines. Its popularity has fueled grey-market imports and uneven pricing across platforms. On Waima, it’s listed at RMB 219 (US$30.50)—cheaper than Tmall Supermarket—with the added perk of 15-minute chilled delivery. It holds a 4.7-star rating from 71 reviews.
