From a bar maven billionaire at only age 48 to China's ‘Godfather of Baijiu’ to a few self starters who had humble beginnings as carpenter and security guards. Here are the 10 wealthiest Chinese billionaires in today’s drinks industry.

No. 6 Ni Yongpei of Anhui Yingjia Group

Ni Yongpei has been serving as Yingjia Group’s Chairman since 2003 but his career in baijiu started when he was just a teenager. At age 18, he was working at a local distillery in Anhui called Huoshan distillery, which later became Yingjia.

Ni and his family reportedly control about 24.84% of Yingjia shares, according to Chinese media reports. Forbs put his net worth at US$2.5 billion on the 2022 Billionaire Rich List.

Formally founded in 1955, Yingjia Group has 17 different subsidiaries and produces baijiu, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. One of the first to promote sustainable winemaking inside baijiu industry, Ni is promoted and given the title of national winemaker in 2011.

Publicly listed in Shanghai in 2015, Yingjia’s market valuation is about RMB 50 billion (US$7.45 billion). Last year, the company generated RMB 4.5 billion in sales, a 32.5% in crease compared with 2020, and its profit grew by 42.1% to RMB 1.8 billion.
