Monica St. Pierre and Antoine Granger stike the gong to launch the partnership

ASC Fine Wines has expanded its exclusive import and distribution agreement for Los Vascos to Greater China, extending a partnership with the Chilean wine estate’s owner, Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, beyond Hong Kong to mainland China.

The agreement builds on ASC’s appointment as the brand’s exclusive mainland importer and distributor in April 2026. It consolidates Los Vascos’ distribution after a period in which the brand worked with multiple importers and channel partners, as China’s wine market continues to restructure.

The companies marked the expanded partnership at a trade dinner in Shanghai hosted by ASC co-owner and lead director Monica Xu St. Pierre and DBR Lafite Deputy CEO Antoine Granger.

“ASC helped establish Los Vascos in China and understands both the market and the brand,” Granger said. “Its national reach, deep trade relationships and long-term commitment make ASC a strong partner to guide the next chapter of Los Vascos in China.”

Founded in 1996, ASC is a wine importer and distributor in China. Initially focused on luxury hotels and fine dining, the company subsequently expanded into dealer networks, e-commerce and private client sales, building a distribution network serving a broad range of customers.

ASC’s relationship with DBR Lafite in China stretches back decades. It previously held exclusive distribution rights in the country for several of the group’s brands, including Légende, Saga, Los Vascos and Château d’Aussières.

These brands gradually established their presence in China, with some products becoming major sellers in the imported wine market.

DBR Lafite later revised its distribution strategy, moving some brands from exclusive representation to arrangements involving multiple importers. Los Vascos was among those distributed through several importers and channel partners.

Its return to exclusive distribution through ASC marks a shift toward more centralized management as China’s wine market undergoes restructuring.

Under their plans, ASC and DBR Lafite will coordinate channel planning, distribution guidelines and management, while strengthening trade education and consumer engagement. The companies aim to create a more stable, transparent and predictable market environment that supports the brand’s long-term development and provides sustainable commercial returns for partners throughout the distribution chain.

“Los Vascos has been part of ASC’s history from its earliest years, and the relationship with DBR Lafite and the Rothschild family is deeply meaningful to Don and me,” Xu St. Pierre said.

“Now that ASC is family-owned again, we have the opportunity to build the brand for a new generation of Chinese wine consumers with discipline, patience and a clear commitment to creating long-term value for our trade partners and consumers.”

The extension from mainland China to Greater China broadens the partnership’s geographic scope. For DBR Lafite, which has adjusted its routes to market over several years, the agreement also signals a return to more concentrated distribution for part of its portfolio in China.
