Bonhams Hong Kong posted a white-glove result in its debut ex-cellar partnership with Burgundy’s Edouard Delaunay, selling 100% of the lots in an online auction featuring rare verticals and exclusive cuvées from the historic estate.
The auction offered a curated selection of verticals, large-format bottlings and exclusive cuvées, all sourced from the Delaunay family’s private reserves.
The top lot was a unique barrel of Vougeot Premier Cru Les Cras 2023, released across multiple formats including one Salmanazar, 12 Jeroboams, 36 Magnums and 135 bottles. It sold for HK$375,000, exceeding its top estimate of HK$360,000. The buyer will have the option to personalise the labels and will receive a private visit, dinner and tasting for four at Maison Edouard Delaunay.

“This white-glove result is a testament to the exceptional quality of Edouard Delaunay’s wines. Collectors have embraced this truly unique opportunity to be part of a singular Burgundian renaissance, and we are honoured to have contributed to sharing this chapter with wine lovers worldwide,” said Amayès Aouli, Global Head of Wine & Spirits, Bonhams.
The sell-out continues a streak of strong performances for Bonhams Hong Kong’s wine division this season.
Founded in 1893, Edouard Delaunay was once a major force in Burgundy, helping shape the region’s global reputation. The brand began a resurgence in 2017 when fifth-generation winemaker Laurent Delaunay reacquired the family estate and launched an ambitious revival that earned it the nickname “The Phoenix Brand.”
Since then, the maison has accumulated more than 700 international ratings above 90 points and secured top honours at the International Wine Challenge, including Red Winemaker of the Year in 2020, 2022 and 2024, and White Winemaker of the Year in 2021.
Operating from Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, the estate focuses on terroir-driven wines that express Burgundy’s most prized vineyards. Its collaboration with Bonhams marks the maison’s first ex-cellar auction and signals its rising momentum among collectors.
