This ambitious competition steps into the spotlight at a crucial moment, filling the void left by the cancellation of the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers Awards in 2020 after a 16-year run.

67 Pall Mall, the private members’ wine club, has unveiled the epoynomous Global Wine Communicator Awards, to recognize and celebrate the world’s most exceptional wine communicators.

This ambitious competition steps into the spotlight at a crucial moment, filling the void left by the cancellation of the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers Awards in 2020 after a 16-year run.

At the core of the 67 Pall Mall Global Wine Communicator Awards is a strong commitment to diversity, with a diversity statement that emphasizes the competition’s dedication to inclusivity. “We encourage everyone who communicates about wine to participate, and we reject unfair discrimination against any individual.,” the competition states.

Supported by Berkmann Wine Cellars and Gusbourne Estate, the competition will offer a £2,000 cash prize across six distinct categories covering written, video and audio communication.

Entries are free of charge and open until 10 March 2024, with content eligibility spanning from 4 March 2023 to 3 March 2024. Finalists will be announced in July 2024, culminating in a grand gala ceremony in September 2024 in London, with live connections to Singapore and Hong Kong.

The judging team for the inaugural 2024 competition also reflect a more international and diverse backgrounds, comprising of chair and respected American wine writer Elaine Chukan Brown and influencer Isis Daniel, Australian writer Max Allen, Chinese wine journalist, Natalie Wang of Vino Joy News, British wine celebrity Olly Smith and YouTuber Konstantin Baum MW from Germany.

The six categories in the 2024 Awards:

  • The Gusbourne Estate Award for Best Global Wine Communicator in Long-Form Writing​
    For any written wine content published on any platform that is above 1,000 words in length
  • The 67 Pall Mall Award for Best Global Wine Communicator in Short-Form Writing​
    For any written wine content published on any platform that is below 1,000 words in length
  • The 67 Pall Mall Award for Best Global Wine Communicator in Long Video
    For any video wine content published on any platform that is over three minutes in duration
  • The 67 Pall Mall Award for Best Global Wine Communicator in Short Video
    For any video wine content published on any platform that is below three minutes in duration
  • The 67 Pall Mall Award for Best Global Wine Communicator in Audio​
    For any audio wine content published on any platform of any duration
  • The Berkmann Award for Outstanding Communicator
    For entrants that submit content across all three disciplines (writing, video, audio)
