A senior executive at Treasury Wine Estates in the United States has been slapped with a restraining order filed by a Napa Valley politician following her allegation that the politician is a child abuser.
Debra Dommen is the vice president for government and industry affairs at Treasury Wine Estates, which produces wines from popular 19 Crimes to the most recently purchased Daou Vineyards in Paso Robles.
According to the restraining order application by Belia Ramos, the Napa County supervisor, Dommen allegedly called her a child abuser. The TWE executive however denied the allegation.
The situation took a turn for the worse as Ramos alleged that Dommen had purportedly circulated defamatory documents to local media, including the Napa Valley Register, aiming to undermine Ramos’ political campaign.
A Napa County Superior Court judge signed a temporary restraining order, according to court filing. Under the order, Dommen has to stay 100 feet from Ramos and two children.
Dommen has been with TWE since 2010 and previously ran the Winegrowers of Napa County.
