Vinexposium has abruptly cancelled its Vinexpo India – Mumbai trade fair less than a month before it was scheduled to open, leaving exhibitors scrambling to deal with travel and lodging bookings.
The fair, originally slated for Oct. 3–4 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, was called off after “careful consideration” and talks with local partners, the organizer said in a statement on its website.
Co-organized with Vinexposium’s local partner, InterAds Exhibitors, this year’s edition also included the India Wines and Spirits Awards (IWSA), presented by the Sonal Holland Academy and held at Vinexpo Mumbai on October 3, 2025.
“Despite the keen interest expressed by many industry players, the conditions were simply not right to deliver an event that would meet the high expectations of our exhibitors and visitors,” the statement read. “This decision was not an easy one.”
The company said it will now focus on its flagship events, including Wine Paris, Vinexpo Asia, Vinexpo Americas and the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, while preparing new projects for India in the future.
The cancellation has sparked confusion among some exhibitors, who said they had already booked flights and hotels.
Vinexpo entered the Indian market in 2021 a show in Delhi before moving to Mumbai in 2022. Last year’s fair drew more than 80 exhibitors and 5,304 visitors, according to the organizer.
With Vinexpo Mumbai now cancelled, the only other international wine and spirits fair scheduled this year in India is Prowine Mumbai on October 31-November 1.
